Bring the worry with you
Philippians 4:4–9
Pause here
Prayer does not require a calm mind at the door. Paul makes room for requests as well as thanksgiving. You can be grateful for one thing and frightened about another. Say both. When you finish praying, consider whether there is someone you trust who could help you carry what is difficult.
A question to sit with
What would you like to ask for, without pretending everything is fine?
Take it into your day
Make two short lists: what is worrying you, and what you are grateful for. Pray through both.
A PRAYER
God of peace, hear what I am finding hard to say. Help me accept the care I need.
Amen.
